HIGHLAND MAN JAILED FOR POSSESSING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
A 23-year-old man named Zak Williamson, residing in the village of Allanfearn, was found guilty of possessing indecent images of children.
The images, which included a total of 77 videos and 807 stills in the most obscene Category A, were accessed from two mobile phones and a USB device.
The offences occurred between May 13, 2016, and March 17, 2020, with most images accessed while Williamson was only 17 years old.
Williamson claimed he downloaded the images "for the shock factor," during his court appearance at Inverness Sheriff Court after previously admitting the offences.
In sentencing, he was ordered to complete 300 hours of unpaid community work, remain under social work supervision, and be on the Sex Offender’s Register for three years.
Additionally, he was instructed to produce any internet-connected devices he owns and allow their inspection, including search histories.
