YOUNG MAN IN CUSTODY AFTER WOMAN ASSAULTED AND INJURED IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENT
A young man named Zaher Hamsho, aged 20, is in custody after pleading guilty to assaulting and injuring a woman during an incident at her home in Hayocks Road, Stevenston, between August 23 and August 24 last year.
Court documents describe that Hamsho acted aggressively towards the complainant, grabbing her by the neck and pushing or pulling her around.
He also seized her by the hair, lifted her, and squeezed her to the point of injury.
The indictment highlights that the offence is considered aggravated because it involved abuse of a partner or ex-partner.
Hamsho appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court last week [Monday, June 28], where he pleaded guilty to an amended version of the allegation.
Sentencing has been deferred for a Criminal Justice Social Work Report, and Hamsho remains in custody.
