BRENT MAN SENTENCED TO FOUR YEARS FOR VICIOUS LONDON NIGHTCLUB ASSAULT
A man from Brent has been sentenced to four years in prison for sexually assaulting a woman at a London nightclub.Yathukulan Paskaramoorthy, aged 33, from Berkley Road in Kingsbury, admitted to one count of sexual assault by penetration.
The incident occurred early in the morning on September 17, when the victim, a 19-year-old student, mistakenly exited the Tiger Tiger nightclub via a fire exit and ended up in a basement of a neighboring building.
Paskaramoorthy, who had been sitting at a table in the club, followed her when he saw her leave.
Without any prior interaction, he grabbed her, pushed her to the floor, and sexually assaulted her.
The victim fought off her attacker, who then ran away after warning her about CCTV cameras.
The victim expressed her distress, stating, “I went to my room mate and cried because I had to get it off my chest.
I hate that it happened, but I fought the guy off and I was glad I did because I do not want him to do worse to someone else.” She also shared her fears about going out again, saying, “I’m very apprehensive about going out with university friends now, and I do not.” The police investigation involved CCTV footage, Oyster card records, and witness accounts, leading to Paskaramoorthy’s arrest.
Detective Constable Ben Lucas emphasized the predator’s actions as a “vulnerable young woman’s” attack and commended her bravery.
Paskaramoorthy was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on November 24 after entering a guilty plea on October 26.
