WYNDHAM DOWLING FROM MARKET HARBOROUGH SENTENCED FOR CHILD PORNOGRAPHY OFFENSES
In a case that has sent shockwaves through the community of Market Harborough, Wyndham Dowling, a 60-year-old resident of Willow Crescent, faced serious criminal charges related to the possession and creation of indecent images of children.The incident came to light in February when police executed a search warrant at Dowling's residence, leading to the seizure of critical digital evidence that would later be used in court proceedings.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers confiscated a desktop computer along with two compact discs from Dowling’s home.
The police findings, as presented by prosecutor John Hallissey at Leicester Crown Court, revealed a disturbing collection of images stored on the computer’s hard drive.
The images were categorized into different levels of severity, with a total of 358 images classified as level one, indicating the least serious content.
Additionally, there were nine images at level two, 61 at level three, and 43 at level four, which is considered the most severe.

Hallissey emphasized that the children depicted in these images ranged in age from six to twelve years old, highlighting the disturbing nature of the material involved.
Wyndham Dowling faced eight charges related to the creation of indecent images of children, to which he pleaded guilty during the court proceedings.
Representing Dowling, lawyer David Charman expressed remorse on behalf of his client, stating, “My client is very ashamed about his actions and said it will not happen again.” He also noted that Dowling was supported by his wife and sister, suggesting a degree of familial concern and involvement.
In delivering the sentence, Judge Simon Hammond acknowledged the seriousness of the offenses.
Dowling was sentenced to four months in prison, but the term was suspended for two years, meaning he would not serve time unless he committed another offense within that period.
Furthermore, Dowling was placed on the sex offender register and was permanently banned from working with children.
Additional restrictions were imposed on Dowling’s use of technology; he was prohibited from owning a computer with internet access unless he agreed to allow police inspections at any time.
