A young man has admitted having sex with a live horse when he appeared before magistrates court.

Wyll Burling pleaded guilty to one charge of sexual penetration per vagina / anus by a person with a living animal contrary to section 69(1) and (3) of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 when he appeared before Truro Magistrates' Court on August 14.

The 22-year-old from Cardrew Terrace in Redruth admitted that on January 28, 2024 in the Redruth area he intentionally performed an act of penetration with his penis on the vagina of a living animal, namely a horse, knowing, or being reckless as to whether, that is what was penetrated.

On Tuesday September 23 he reappeared before the court for sentencing.

He was given a community order including 40 days of rehabilitation activity and was ordered to pay £556.57 in compensation and pay £200 fine.
