Galashiels Child Sexual Abuser
A pensioner from Galashiels has been convicted of sexually assaulting two young girls after a four-day jury trial at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

William Thomson, 73, of Balmoral Avenue, denied all five charges against him. However, the jury unanimously found him guilty of sexually assaulting the girls on multiple occasions between 2011 and 2019. The offenses took place at various locations, including houses in Galashiels, Earlston, and Hawick, as well as in Thomson’s vehicle.

Sentencing was adjourned until August 19, allowing for the preparation of background reports.
