WILLIAM ROLLO'S BRUTAL CRIME SPREE IN FIFE: DOMESTIC ABUSE HORROR REVEALED
In a harrowing case that has shocked the community of Fife, William Rollo has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison for a prolonged and violent history of domestic abuse spanning almost two decades. The court heard how Rollo, now 34 years old and currently held at Perth Prison, subjected six women to relentless violence and intimidation over the years, with some incidents occurring in towns such as Burntisland, Cardenden, Ballingry, Lochore, and Kirkcaldy.
Rollo’s pattern of abuse was detailed during his sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court, where he admitted to a lengthy list of offences.
The court was told that his violent actions began as early as February 28, 2001, in Burntisland, where he physically assaulted his then-partner by squeezing her throat against a wall and punching her in the head.
These acts of violence persisted over the years, with incidents recorded in various locations within Fife.
Between August 12, 2002, and February 28, 2003, in Cardenden, Rollo attempted to punch his then-partner again, continuing a pattern of aggressive behavior.
His violence escalated further in April 2005, when he hit another partner with a glass bottle in Ballingry.
The following year, on January 1, 2012, in Lochore, he punched his then-partner on the head, adding to the list of assaults.
One of the most disturbing episodes occurred between September 6 and December 25, 2012, in Lochore, where Rollo assaulted the same victim multiple times.
During this period, he seized her by the throat, pinned her to a chair, sat astride her, and repeatedly pressed his fingers into her eyes, demonstrating a pattern of extreme violence and control.
Further incidents include a threatening episode on January 10 of the previous year in Ballingry, where he threatened another woman and threw a television set.
Just ten days later, on January 20 of this year, in Cardenden, Rollo assaulted a female who was only 16 years old at the time.
His violent tendencies continued into April, when on the 30th, at Kirk Wynd in Kirkcaldy, he pushed his then-partner, causing her to hit against a window and sustain a head injury.
Following a comprehensive review of his criminal history and the severity of his actions, Sheriff Craig McSherry sentenced William Rollo to three years and nine months in prison.
The court’s decision underscores the seriousness of domestic violence and the impact it has on victims, many of whom endured years of suffering at the hands of Rollo within the community of Fife.
