WILLIAM MCEVOY FROM FIFE SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN KIRKCALDY
In a recent development in the ongoing fight against child sexual abuse, William McEvoy, a man in his 80s residing in Lower Methil, Fife, was convicted and sentenced for serious sexual offences involving two young girls.The case was heard at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court, where McEvoy faced multiple charges related to his inappropriate conduct.
McEvoy entered the courtroom denying the allegations, which included two counts of lewd, indecent, and libidinous practices, commonly understood as sexual assault against two female children.
Despite his denial, the jury found him guilty on both counts after careful deliberation.

The first victim was subjected to McEvoy’s misconduct over a span of three years, while the second girl endured similar abuse over a period of five years.

Following the conviction, McEvoy was sentenced to serve 27 months in prison.
