MAN JAILED FOR SEXUALLY ASSAULTING MULTIPLE WOMEN
William Kidd, a man who preyed on women shopping in Cheshire and Greater Manchester, has been sentenced to prison.He appeared before Manchester Crown Court on Friday, 29 May, and received a four-year sentence.
Additionally, he is under a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which has no expiration date.
Kidd, aged 27 and residing on Stanbank Street in Stockport, admitted to multiple charges including 11 counts of sexual assault of a female, two counts of voyeurism, eight counts of recording images beneath clothing without consent, and possession of cannabis.
The case involves five separate incidents occurring between May and September 2025.
Cheshire Police, with support from Greater Manchester Police, led the investigation.
Detectives established that Kidd targeted women while they were shopping, following them subtly through store aisles.
His activities spanned several locations, including stores in Macclesfield, Handforth, and Stanley Green in Cheshire, as well as Denton and Stockport in Greater Manchester.
CCTV footage captured Kidd on four occasions spraying a substance from a bottle he carried as he stalked victims.
He directed the spray at women’s hair or backs, often without their awareness.
Forensic testing later confirmed the substance was Kidd’s semen.
In one additional incident, Kidd tracked a woman and secretly filmed her on his mobile phone while she was shopping with her five-year-old daughter.
He was identified after Cheshire Police launched a CCTV appeal, leading to his arrest in October 2025.
During his arrest, authorities found cannabis in his possession.
Further analysis of his phone revealed additional footage, including a video of Kidd following a woman pushing a shopping trolley with a small child, filming up her skirt without her knowledge.
Kidd admitted to the charges and was convicted of the crimes he faced.
