WILLIAM ‘BILL’ WAITE FROM LONDON: A DANGEROUS SEX OFFENDER LIVING NEAR CHILDREN IN SOUTH LONDON
In April 1997, William ‘Bill’ Waite, a convicted paedophile from London, revealed disturbing intentions during a session with a prison psychologist.Waite confessed that he harbored thoughts of killing a child, a revelation that raised serious concerns about his potential for reoffending.
Despite these admissions, he was ultimately released back into the community, sparking alarm among local residents and authorities alike.
Waite, who is 35 years old, had previously changed his name to Jason Smith at one point in an attempt to conceal his identity from neighbors and the public.
To further disguise himself, he dyed his distinctive red hair black and adopted the wearing of glasses, efforts to blend into his surroundings and avoid detection.
His criminal history is extensive and deeply troubling.
In 1988, Waite was sentenced to 11 years in prison after being convicted of gross indecency involving two young boys aged seven and eight.
This marked his second lengthy incarceration for sexual offenses involving children.
During his time in custody, Waite openly expressed to a psychologist that he believed he would reoffend once released.
He admitted to fantasizing about harming or even killing children and stated that he did not see anything morally wrong with having sex with minors.
According to a former inmate, Waite was known to be unrepentant and openly displayed dangerous views.
The inmate remarked, “He made it quite plain to everyone he would commit other offences if let out.
He had to be segregated for his sick views,” highlighting the threat he posed to society.
Despite these serious warnings, Waite was released in 1994 after serving only about two-thirds of his sentence.
His release was met with concern from his family, particularly his mother Joan, who described him as “sick” and expressed her fears that he would soon be back behind bars.
Her words underscored the ongoing danger that Waite represented.
Today, William Waite is unemployed and resides in a second-floor council flat located in South London.
The area is a busy neighborhood, with a supermarket and a car park where children often play football.
Despite his efforts to remain inconspicuous, Waite is frequently seen wandering near a nearby shopping precinct filled with families and young children.
Notably, on one of the balconies next to his flat, there is a child's toy bike, which has raised further concerns among residents.
One neighbor expressed her alarm, stating, “I didn’t know this.
I’ll be getting straight on to the council to see if we can get him moved,” indicating the community’s growing unease about Waite’s presence in the neighborhood and the potential risk he poses to local children.
