CONTROLLING MAN CONVICTED OF WIFE MURDER IN GREAT SALING
A man identified as Wilfred Jacob, aged 43, has been convicted of murdering his wife Linda Vilika in Great Saling, Essex.The court heard that Jacob attacked Vilika with such force that the knife he used broke.
Linda Vilika was found dead at her home in August 2019, having been stabbed twice in the back.
The prosecution described Jacob as a 'jealous and controlling' partner who had become consumed with jealousy and had sent his wife numerous abusive messages.
When Vilika told her brother she was planning to leave Jacob, he reacted angrily and attacked her.
Jacob claimed he suffered an 'epileptic aura' and could not remember what happened.
The murder weapon, a 20cm carving knife with a bent and snapped blade, was found at the scene.
The court found Jacob guilty of her murder at Chelmsford Crown Court and he is scheduled to be sentenced soon.
