OXFORD PAEDOPHILE AVOIDS JAIL AFTER EXTREME PORN IMAGES
An Oxford paedophile has been spared an immediate prison sentence after more breaches of sexual harm orders.Wayne Young, of Bernwood Road, Headington, was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on August 12 after pleading guilty to four breaches.
Young, 41, was first handed a suspended sentence in April 2023 for having indecent images of children, possession of extreme pornography and attempted sexual communication with a child.
After that, it was discovered between August 22, 2022, and July 20, 2023, Young was found with several indecent images of children as well as being caught trying to communicate with a child under 16.
Using a chatroom, Young was caught telling a 15-year-old girl she was a ‘good girl and had a beautiful body’ as well as calling another young girl ‘sexy’.
He was also charged with making 15 Category A images, 27 Category B images and nine Category C images.
Between 26 February, 2023 and March 1, 2023 he was charged with making a further seven Category A images, two Category B images, and seven Category C images.
Police found Young had also been communicating with young children online, three females and one male, but their ages couldn’t be proved.
He faced four charges of attempting to communicate with a child under 16.
For that breach, he was jailed for three years and two months.
The latest breach, committed between June 10 and July 8 this year, was just days after he was released on May 29.
The court heard that Young reported to the police station where concerns were raised that he had downloaded around 20 private chat apps and virtual private networks (VPNs).
He also deleted data from his phone and created an account on Reddit.
These offences put him in breach of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Despite this, the Judge decided to handed Young a suspended sentence.
Judge Hassan Khan said: "Your device is still being analysed by police so this might not be the end of the story.
"These seem to have been impulsive acts.
The main difficulty is that you are on the cusp of being unmanageable in the community.
"I am persuaded there is the prospect of rehabilitation in your case." Young was handed a 20-month prison sentence, suspended for two years.
He was also ordered to complete up to 26 rehabilitation days and 150 hours of unpaid work within 12 months.
There were no orders for costs or the deprivation of his phone.
Judge Khan added: "If you commit another offence or breach the requirements I will simply activate the sentence.
This is your final opportunity."
