WAYNE VEEVERS FROM RUNCORN FACES JUSTICE AFTER ESCAPING CHILD ABUSE CHARGES

In a significant development in a long-standing child abuse case, Wayne Veevers, aged 36 and hailing from Runcorn, was finally brought to justice after a period of evasion that spanned over a decade.

Veevers initially fled abroad in an attempt to avoid the consequences of serious criminal allegations but later surrendered himself to law enforcement authorities.

His decision to come forward came in November 2016, when he appeared before the court to admit guilt on multiple charges related to child abuse.

The charges included heinous acts such as rape and indecent assault, which had been committed more than ten years prior to his surrender.

The case had remained unresolved for many years, causing distress to victims and their families, until Veevers’s eventual confession.

Following his guilty plea, the court sentenced Veevers to a term exceeding six years in prison, reflecting the gravity of his crimes.

In addition to his custodial sentence, the court imposed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, aimed at preventing any future offenses and ensuring the safety of the community.
