WAYNE PEARSON'S SHOCKING CRIMES IN EDINBURGH AND PERTHSHIRE: FAKE AMBULANCE USED TO PREY ON CHILDREN
In a disturbing series of incidents, Wayne Pearson, a 67-year-old man with a troubling criminal history, has once again found himself at the center of a serious investigation involving the exploitation of children.Pearson, who resides in Edinburgh, has a long-standing background that includes previous convictions and a pattern of behavior that raises significant concerns about his intentions and actions.
Most recently, Pearson was caught at an orienteering race held in Perthshire, where children as young as ten participated.
Disguised as a paramedic, he arrived at the event in a vehicle that appeared to be an ambulance, which he had modified or maintained to resemble an emergency response vehicle.
His presence at such a youth-oriented event, dressed as a first responder, was deemed highly inappropriate and alarming by authorities and witnesses alike.
Wayne Pearson is known to operate a private first aid service called Coast Ambulance And Medical, which he established approximately ten years ago.
Despite his professional-sounding business, Pearson is prohibited from working with individuals under the age of 18 due to a prior conviction involving the downloading of child abuse images in 2016.
This restriction was put in place to prevent him from gaining access to vulnerable children, yet he continues to find ways to circumvent these limitations.
His conduct has previously been scrutinized after he was found to have breached the conditions of his registration in 2020.
On that occasion, he appeared at primary school events in Edinburgh and a children’s cycling event in Perthshire, actions that led to a fine of £500.
His repeated breaches and the nature of his activities have caused significant concern among law enforcement and the community.
Last week, Pearson appeared in court again after police uncovered evidence that he had engaged in regulated work at two additional events.
Under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scotland Act 2007, he was charged with violations related to his unauthorized involvement in activities with children.
Although owning or driving a former ambulance is not illegal per se, it becomes an offense if the vehicle is operated with lights and sirens activated, which Pearson was known to do.
Further compounding the seriousness of his case, Pearson was observed driving to his trial in a vehicle resembling a paramedic ambulance, reinforcing concerns about his ongoing attempts to portray himself as a legitimate emergency responder.
His actions, including the use of a fake ambulance and his presence at youth events, continue to pose a significant threat to the safety and well-being of children in Edinburgh and beyond.
