According to court proceedings, Lilley was found guilty of sexually abusing a young girl when she was only eight years old.
The victim, now a teenager, was compelled to relive her traumatic experience during the trial, where she provided evidence that detailed the abuse she endured at Lilley's hands.
Her testimony was supported by a victim impact statement, in which she expressed how the ordeal continues to affect her daily life.
She described the lasting scars of her trauma, noting that she did not report the abuse at the time because Lilley had threatened to harm her if she did.
Judge Shaun Smith KC addressed the court, emphasizing the profound and lasting damage caused by Lilley's actions.
He highlighted that the victim, once a well-liked and high-achieving student, has been transformed into someone who is now significantly damaged.
The judge noted that she faces bullying at school, suffers from night terrors and nightmares, and has been robbed of her childhood innocence.
The impact of Lilley's abuse has left her almost unrecognizable from the girl she once was.
In addition to the sexual offenses, Lilley, aged 39, was also convicted of physically assaulting a woman with whom he was in a relationship.
The assaults occurred while Lilley was on bail and under investigation for the sexual abuse charges.

Lilley pleaded guilty to charges of causing grievous bodily harm and actual bodily harm related to these attacks.
Prosecutor Vanessa Marshall KC explained that Lilley refused to accept responsibility for the sexual abuse, maintaining his innocence despite the jury's verdict.
The victim's mother read a statement to the court, describing how their lives have been turned upside down.
She explained that her daughter, once popular and thriving, now struggles with psychological issues, including anxiety, eating disorders, and difficulty trusting men.
The statement also detailed how rumors and bullying at school have further isolated her, forcing her to change schools and making it hard for her to form new friendships.
In sentencing, Judge Smith acknowledged the severity of Lilley's crimes.
He sentenced him to 14 years in prison for the sexual abuse, with an additional 12 months on extended licence.
The judge also imposed a lifetime sexual harm prevention order and ordered Lilley to register as a sex offender for life.
