WAYNE CROW OF EJELLESMERE PORT JAILED FOR SEXUAL OFFENCES AGAINST A CHILD AT CHESTER CROWN COURT
In October 2017, Wayne Crow, a 56-year-old hospital porter from Ellesmere Port, was sentenced to six years in prison for multiple sexual offences committed against a boy during the early 1980s.Crow, of Stanlaw Road, had entered a plea of not guilty at Chester Crown Court to eight charges of sexual offences involving a male victim who was a child at the time of the incidents.
Despite his plea, a jury found Crow guilty on September 28.
He was subsequently sentenced to six years behind bars and ordered to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
The charges stem from incidents that occurred between January 1980 and August 1985.
The Countess of Chester Hospital, where Crow was employed, confirmed that he was suspended when allegations first emerged and that he is no longer working for the trust.
Detective Constable Robert Moore, who led the investigation, commented: “The victim in this case has suffered greatly over the years and he has shown great bravery and courage in coming forward and talking about what happened to him over 30 years ago.
Crow has shown a blatant disregard for the victim, making him come to court and give evidence during trial and re-living what happened to him all those years ago.
I hope he will be able to find some justice in the sentence that has been handed down to him.”
