Louth Sexual Abuser
In March 2014, Wayne Bryson, a 19-year-old from Harvey’s Lane, Louth, was sentenced after being found guilty of recording himself engaging in sexual acts with a Staffordshire bull terrier. The incident came to light when his girlfriend, while searching for photographs of their child on his mobile phone, discovered a video depicting the assault. The footage showed the dog, named Rudi, shaking and displaying a back-and-forth motion, with a man’s penis visible entering and exiting the animal. The clip lasted approximately 30 seconds.
Prosecutor Paul Woods explained, “The dog was shaking in a back and forwards motion. She could see a man’s penis going in and out of the animal. The clip was about 30 seconds long.”
Bryson admitted to breaching the Sexual Offences Act by performing an act of sexual penetration on the dog on January 17. Despite acknowledging the act as sexually deviant, his defense solicitor Gordon Holt stated, “There was nothing to suggest Bryson had sexual deviant tendencies, despite accepting this act was sexually deviant.”
Holt added, “There may be all sorts of reasons why a boy gets up to something as stupid and disgusting as this. His entire life has been ‘swept away for 30 seconds of madness’.” He further explained, “The consequences are extensive and will continue to blight his life. His family have disowned him and his girlfriend has ended their relationship.”
Bryson was interviewed about the offence and admitted to having penetrated the dog’s vagina and recording it on his phone. He stated, “It lasted 30 seconds and I did not ejaculate.” He also claimed he recorded the act but “does not know why,” emphasizing he had not circulated the video.
In addition to the animal abuse conviction, Bryson was found possessing 315 grams of cannabis bush on January 22. Magistrates sentenced him to a four-month jail term, suspended for two years, and ordered a one-year supervision order. He was also required to pay an £80 victim surcharge, placed on the sex offenders register for seven years, and banned from owning animals for two years.
During the hearing, following a report adjournment, there were jeers from the public gallery. One individual shouted, “He is a beast, a dog has got no voice.”
