WASEEM ULLAH SENTENCED FOR SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN MANCHESTER AND BOLTON MOORS
In a disturbing case that has shocked the local community, Waseem Ullah, a 28-year-old man from Manchester, has been convicted of serious sexual offenses involving a young girl. The incident unfolded after Ullah engaged in a manipulative and predatory campaign that culminated in a sexual assault near the moors in Darwen, a town close to Manchester.
According to police reports, Ullah initially contacted the victim through social media, using a false name to conceal his identity.
He targeted an underage girl, promising to pay her for casual meetups—offering £20 for an hour and £40 for two hours of 'chilling' together.
Despite the girl’s clear indication that she was underage and did not wish to meet him, Ullah persisted in his attempts to lure her, even suggesting that she could get 'stuff' with the money if she met him occasionally.
His messages grew increasingly explicit, with Ullah requesting sexually explicit photographs from the girl, further demonstrating his predatory intent.
The victim’s mother discovered the inappropriate messages in May 2022, which led to Ullah’s arrest.
He was initially released on bail but violated the conditions set by the court by engaging in further criminal activity.
It was during this period that Ullah used a false social media profile to arrange a meeting with the girl, who had gone missing in June.
The meeting took place near Darwen, where Ullah committed a sexual assault in the back of his vehicle.
Following the assault, specialist officers from the Bolton Complex Safeguarding Team interviewed the girl, who provided detailed accounts of her encounter with Ullah.
Investigations revealed that the contact number Ullah used was registered to his address on Mobberley Road, Breightmet.
On June 9, police officers spotted Ullah driving in Bolton, where he was observed cleaning and emptying his car, indicating an attempt to cover his tracks.
Ullah was promptly arrested, charged, and remanded in custody.
Initially denying the allegations, Ullah later pleaded guilty in court to causing a female aged 13 or over to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity.
He also admitted to two counts of sexual assault, engaging in sexual communication with a child, and breaching court bail conditions.
His case was brought before Bolton Crown Court, where he received a sentence of six years in prison, with an additional four-year extension.
PC Becky Greenwood of the Bolton Complex Safeguarding Team commented on the case, stating, “Waseem Ullah showed no remorse for his behaviour and denied his criminality until he was faced with indisputable evidence.
He was persistent in his attempts to exploit the survivors in this case, and I am pleased that we were able to secure the evidence to send him to prison for a long time.” She further expressed gratitude to the young girls who bravely came forward and shared their experiences, emphasizing that while the prison sentence cannot undo the trauma inflicted, it offers some measure of justice and reassurance that Ullah is now behind bars.
