Manchester Todmorden Sexual Abuser
A man hailing from Todmorden has been handed down a prison sentence of one year after a jury found him guilty of sexually abusing a young girl aged just 10 years old. Wah Ip, who is known to own the Lucky Dragon takeaway, faced serious criminal charges but initially denied the allegations of sexual assault brought against him. Despite his denials, the court proceedings at Bradford Crown Court culminated in a conviction that confirmed his guilt beyond reasonable doubt.

The court heard disturbing details of the incident, during which Ip was accused of kissing the young girl and touching her over her clothing. These actions caused significant distress to the victim, who was understandably shaken by the experience. The evidence presented during the trial painted a troubling picture of the defendant’s conduct, leading to his conviction.

Following the sentencing, Wah Ip, aged 59, was ordered to serve a 12-month prison term. Additionally, he was mandated to register as a sex offender for a period of ten years. The court also imposed a sexual harm prevention order, which restricts him from having unsupervised contact with girls under the age of 16. These measures are intended to protect minors and prevent any potential future harm, reflecting the seriousness with which the court viewed the offense.
