PETERBOROUGH MAN JAILED FOR FILMING AND RAPING SLEEPING WOMAN
A man identified as Vitalijus Buinovskis, aged 25, attended a small gathering in Ravensthorpe on July 22.During the early hours of the following day, the victim, a woman in her twenties, fell asleep at the property.
The incident escalated when, around 10am, a third person at the scene discovered Buinovskis' phone ringing on the lounge table.
Upon examining the phone, the person found photos of the victim and a video showing Buinovskis raping her while she was asleep.
The individual attacked Buinovskis, who then fled the scene.
Buinovskis was arrested later that day and charged with rape.
On October 27, he appeared at Peterborough Crown Court and pleaded guilty to the offence.
Subsequently, he was sentenced to six years in prison at Cambridge Crown Court.
Judge Bridge described Buinovskis as someone who exploited the trust of the victim, having sex with her while she was unconscious and filming the act.
The judge emphasized the significant impact on the victim and highlighted the seriousness of the crime, leading to a substantial sentence.
