AYLESBURY MAN JAILED FOR NEW YEAR’S SEX ASSAULT
A man named Viorel Ene, aged 22 and residing on Cannock Road in Aylesbury, has been sentenced to eight months in prison for a sexual assault that occurred on New Year’s Day.Ene pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court on 12 April to one count of sexual assault.
He was sentenced on 10 May and will also be on the Sexual Offenders Register for ten years.
According to reports, Ene approached a 19-year-old woman on the Iron Bridge around 5am on New Year’s Day.
After brief conversation, he sexually assaulted her over her clothing.
He was arrested on the same day and subsequently charged on 13 February.
The investigating officer, PC Cat Cameron, emphasized the severity of the crime and praised the victim for her courage in coming forward.
She expressed hope that the sentence would bring some closure to the victim and encouraged others to report sexual offences, providing contact details for police and Crimestoppers.
