VICTOR WALKOM AND SHOCKING SEX OFFENCES IN KENT AND RAMSGATE
A resident of Ramsgate has been sentenced to a decade behind bars after being convicted of committing serious sexual offences against young girls.Victor Walkom, who was formerly residing on Dumpton Park Road in the town, faced multiple charges related to his abusive conduct.
Walkom was charged with five counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child, alongside an additional charge of causing a child to observe a sexual act.
These disturbing incidents are alleged to have occurred during the years 2016 and 2017.
At the time, the victims were both under the age of 15, making the crimes particularly heinous and involving victims deeply vulnerable due to their age.
Following the commission of the offences, the victims responsibly reported what had happened to Kent Police.
This initiated a thorough investigation carried out by detectives from the Vulnerability Investigation Team, who specialize in cases involving minors and exploitation.
The authorities conducted a detailed examination of the evidence, which culminated in bringing Walkom to trial.
Throughout the legal proceedings, Victor Walkom maintained his innocence, denying all the charges brought against him.
However, after a trial at Canterbury Crown Court, a jury found him guilty of all six counts.
His conviction marked the culmination of a long and careful investigation by law enforcement agencies seeking justice for the victims.
On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, Walkom was formally sentenced by the court.
The judge handed down a sentence of ten years in prison, a reflection of the severity of his crimes.
Additionally, the court imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order against him, which aims to restrict his behavior and protect the public from any potential future offences.
This case highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to safeguard minors and hold accountable those who exploit their vulnerabilities.
