MAN FOUND GUILTY OF MULTIPLE SEXUAL OFFENCES
A male individual identified through the Metropolitan Police’s V100 initiative has been handed a conviction for multiple sexual offenses.The V100 programme is designed to utilize data and intelligence to locate offenders considered to be a top threat to women and girls.
Each month, officers generate a list of the 100 most dangerous individuals, whom they then monitor and pursue rigorously, employing tactics inspired by counter-terrorism policing to remove them from London’s streets.
This latest case reflects ongoing progress within the V100 framework, which has resulted in 208 convictions since its launch at the start of 2023, with data collected up to the end of April.
On the 1st of June, Victor Komolafe, aged 35, residing on Harmony Close in Hertfordshire, was sentenced at Woolwich Crown Court to nearly nine years’ imprisonment, specifically 8 years and 11 months.
He was also granted a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that will last indefinitely and will remain on the sex offenders register for life.
Komolafe was previously convicted on April 23rd at Snaresbrook Crown Court on four counts related to sexual offences, including attempted rape, sexual assault, and two counts of assault by penetration.
The defendant, who also goes by the names Ghost and Xavier, was charged concerning two victims who did not know each other, in relation to the offences.
Komolafe used a facade of friendliness and familiarity to gain the trust of his victims, allowing him to exploit personal connections when targeting women for his abusive acts.
The courage displayed by the victims in coming forward highlights their resilience and dedication to speaking out against perpetrators like Komolafe.
Their bravery was instrumental in enabling the investigation to pursue justice, which they urgently sought.
Komolafe was apprehended after a report of sexual assault was made on August 10, 2023.
During police questioning, he claimed the sexual activity was consensual and initiated by the complainant.
Metropolitan detectives conducted a thorough investigation despite Komolafe’s attempts to conceal his name, address, and identity from the victims.
Forensic evidence supported the allegations made against him.
Another report of similar sexual misconduct was received less than a month after his arrest, on September 25, 2023.
The second victim reported that sexual offences occurred on September 23, 2023.
The second complainant described being starved of food and water, which appeared to be a deliberate tactic to weaken her.
Subsequently, further sexual offences took place in a vehicle belonging to Komolafe’s partner.
Komolafe denied the allegations again, but forensic examination of the second victim’s clothing revealed semen linked to him, confirming his involvement.
