AYLESBURY MAN JAILED FOR LIFE OVER MOTHER'S MACHETE MURDER
Aylesbury resident Usman Shahzad, aged 21, was convicted of the murder of his mother, Assia Shahzad.
The incident occurred at her Wendover Road home in October 2010.
Shahzad pleaded guilty at the start of his trial at Aylesbury Crown Court.
Sentence was handed down as a life imprisonment term with a minimum of 20 years, due to the attack being both premeditated and executed in a cold-blooded manner.
The presiding judge described the assault as "a premeditated cold-blooded attack," where Shahzad used a machete to strike his mother, aged 40, following a period of strained feelings, potentially connected to her new marriage in Pakistan.
The woman was chased through two bedrooms into an en-suite bathroom, where she was struck with a machete and a shower pole, causing her death.
