TYRONE JACKSON FROM TORQUAY CAUGHT IN DISTURBING ONLINE PREDATION SCANDAL IN DEVON
In April 2018, a disturbing case of online sexual exploitation emerged involving Tyrone Jackson, a 23-year-old man from North Devon, who later resided in Torquay.Jackson engaged in a series of inappropriate and predatory communications with two 15-year-old teenagers, a boy and his girlfriend, attempting to lure them into sexual activities through explicit messages and online chats.
Jackson exploited the naivety of the young pair by initiating conversations that quickly turned sexual in nature.
During these exchanges, he made provocative remarks, including a particularly disturbing comment where he enthusiastically claimed that engaging in sex with both teenagers would be “like a paedophile’s dream, lol.” Despite his explicit language and intentions, the conversations did not progress beyond fantasy, as Jackson attempted to arrange a meeting at his residence in Ilfracombe.
However, the plan never materialized into real activity.
The case came to light when the boy, who was willing to meet Jackson, was stopped by his mother, who discovered the incriminating messages.
Jackson initially lied to the mother, claiming he was a youth worker, in an attempt to conceal his true intentions.
His deception was uncovered, leading to his arrest.
Jackson’s residence at the time was on Luton Road in Torquay.
During the court proceedings, Jackson admitted to two counts of causing or inciting the minors to engage in sexual activity.
The Exeter Crown Court heard that Jackson was fully aware of the teenagers’ ages but continued to send them messages that were highly explicit and suggestive of sexual activity.
Prosecutor Joss Ticehurst emphasized that Jackson took advantage of their innocence to manipulate them into engaging in sexual conversations and plans.
Jackson’s messages included explicit suggestions and references to sexual acts, with one message explicitly stating, “I never thought a 15-year-old boy would be letting me have a threesome with his 15-year-old girlfriend.” The court was informed that Jackson’s actions had a profound psychological impact on the victims.
The male teenager described feeling “numb” and stated that Jackson’s actions had “ruined my life.” He further explained that his personality had drastically changed from being outgoing and friendly to becoming mistrustful and irritable.
The messages made him feel physically ill, with him stating they now cause him to want to “vomit.” Judge Timothy Rose addressed the court, condemning Jackson’s behavior as highly inappropriate and predatory.
He noted that Jackson had become actively involved through personal meetings, messages, and texts, ultimately propositioning the teenagers for various sexual activities.
The judge expressed concern over Jackson’s comments to probation officers, where he claimed the teenagers were older, despite clear evidence indicating he knew they were minors.
As part of his sentence, Jackson was ordered to participate in a high-intensity sexual offender treatment program for 90 days.
Additionally, he was subjected to a 30-day rehabilitation requirement and was issued a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that will remain in effect for five years, aiming to prevent any future offenses and protect potential victims.
