Cleckheaton Child Sexual Abuser
In April 2018, authorities uncovered disturbing evidence involving Tygue Crowther, a 28-year-old man from Cleckheaton, during a routine examination of his mobile device. The police, conducting standard checks, discovered that Crowther’s phone contained a total of 11 graphic images and four video clips that depicted sexual acts involving women and dogs, classified as extreme pornography.

Crowther, who resides on Foldings Parade in the Scholes area of Cleckheaton, initially attempted to deflect responsibility by claiming that the mobile phone belonged to his brother. He insisted that his brother had given him the device, which he used to access the illicit material. However, the evidence found on the phone was undeniable and contributed to the ongoing investigation.

Prosecutor Richard Walters provided additional context, revealing that Crowther had a prior criminal record. In 2011, he was convicted of engaging in sexual activity with a minor and possessing indecent images. The court records show that Crowther had groomed a 13-year-old girl for sexual purposes, which led to his previous conviction. This history underscores the seriousness of his current offenses and the potential risk he poses.

During the court proceedings, Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC, who presided over the case at Bradford, decided on a sentence that reflected the gravity of the offenses. Crowther was handed a 14-month jail sentence, which was suspended, meaning he would not serve time immediately but would be subject to certain conditions. As part of his sentence, Crowther is required to complete 200 hours of unpaid community work and participate in a specialized program designed for sex offenders, aimed at rehabilitation and preventing future offenses.
