Ringwood Child Sexual Abuser
A man identified as Tristan Clamp, aged 33 and residing on Northfield Road in Ringwood, has been formally sentenced to serve four and a half years in prison following a series of heinous sex offences that spanned over a decade. The crimes, which include disturbing acts of voyeurism, possession of indecent images of children, and operating equipment beneath a woman's clothing without her consent, have shocked the local community and prompted a strong judicial response.

Clamp's criminal activities were committed over a period from January 2010 to August 2021, during which he accumulated a disturbing collection of illegal material. Among the charges he faced were the possession and taking of indecent photographs and pseudo-photographs of a child, acts of voyeurism, and the use of equipment to invade the privacy of women beneath their clothing. The court also found that Clamp possessed a paedophile manual, a document described by the judge as an 'abominable' piece of material that exemplifies the depravity of his actions.

During the sentencing hearing at Southampton Crown Court, the presiding judge did not hold back in condemning Clamp’s conduct. The judge described him as a 'deceitful and deviant offender' and expressed profound concern over the nature of the paedophile manual, emphasizing its disturbing content. The judge also remarked on the horrific images of abuse found in the illegal photographs, calling them 'horrendous.'

In addressing Clamp’s remorse, the judge stated that he harbored doubts about the sincerity of his regret, citing the victim’s statement which described Clamp’s deceit as ongoing for many years. The court was shown a letter written by Clamp to the court, which the judge dismissed as self-pitying and self-serving, further highlighting the judge’s skepticism about his genuine remorse.

The victim, who courageously read her personal statement aloud in court, was praised by the judge for her bravery. The court acknowledged the severe psychological harm inflicted upon her and commended her resilience in facing her attacker publicly.

In addition to his prison sentence, Clamp faces an extended period of supervision, with a total licence period of seven and a half years. He is also subject to restraining orders and an indefinite sexual harm prevention order, designed to protect potential future victims. All devices containing illegal material have been ordered to be forfeited, ensuring Clamp cannot access or distribute such content again.

Authorities have made it clear that Clamp’s actions have been thoroughly investigated, and the measures taken aim to prevent any further harm. His conviction and sentencing serve as a stark reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat sexual offences and protect vulnerable individuals in the community of Ringwood and beyond.
