EXETER MAN TRISTAN ACRES ADMITS TO GROOMING AND SEXUAL ACTIVITIES INVOLVING 14-YEAR-OLD GIRL
In July 2014, Tristan Acres, a 20-year-old man from St Katherine’s Road in Exeter, admitted to inciting a 14-year-old girl to engage in sexual activity.He confessed to causing the schoolgirl victim to expose her breasts and genitalia during webcam sessions between February and April of the previous year.
Additionally, he pleaded guilty to a second charge of causing the girl to view an image of someone engaging in sexual activity within the same timeframe.
During the hearing at Exeter magistrates court, it was revealed that Acres had groomed the girl.
He now faces a potential custodial sentence for his actions.
Susan Snow, defending Acres, stated that he had “rather exceptional personal mitigation,” emphasizing that he was a man of good character who had fully admitted to the police and pleaded guilty at the earliest opportunity.
District Judge Stephen Nicholls noted that his sentencing powers were insufficient for the case and therefore referred it to the Crown Court in Exeter for sentencing scheduled next month.
Acres was granted bail but is required to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register.
