Northwich Child Sexual Abuser
A man from Northwich has been convicted of grooming and sexually assaulting a young boy during the early 1990s.
Trevor Leach was unanimously found guilty on 19 counts of gross indecency after a trial held at Liverpool Crown Court.
The 65-year-old, residing on Verdin Avenue in Northwich, has been remanded in custody and is scheduled for sentencing on Friday, 8 August.
The court proceedings revealed that Leach's abuse took place between 1992 and 1996, beginning when the victim was only 12 years old.
The victim recounted that they first met Leach while he was employed at the former Elf garage, located opposite Hartford High School.
According to the victim, Leach would often take them out in his car and bring them back to his home, where the abuse occurred.
Initially, the victim chose not to tell police about the abuse, but in 2022, a chance encounter with Leach brought back memories, prompting them to come forward with their allegations.
In response to the reports, police launched an investigation, during which Leach was questioned. He acknowledged knowing the victim but denied any misconduct.
Nevertheless, he was later charged based on the allegations revealed during the inquiry.
