TRACY BENNETT FROM BOURNEMOUTH ESCAPES STRIKING OFF AFTER CHILDREN'S HOSPICE NURSE SCANDAL
A woman employed as a children's hospice nurse in Bournemouth has been involved in a serious criminal case involving the possession of a large number of indecent images of minors.Tracy Bennett, aged 48 and originally from Kinross, was found to have downloaded a total of 1,740 illicit images over a span of four years.
Despite the severity of her actions, she was not disqualified from her profession.
During the court proceedings, Bennett admitted to possessing these images, which depicted minors in various compromising and illegal situations.
She explained that her motives were driven by curiosity and that alcohol consumption at the time may have influenced her actions.
Her defense highlighted her remorse and the fact that no children at the Bournemouth hospice where she worked were harmed or involved in any way.
The court took her circumstances into account but also emphasized the seriousness of her offenses.
As part of her sentencing, Bennett was given a community order requiring her to complete 250 hours of unpaid work.
Additionally, she was ordered to remain on the sex offenders’ register for a period of three years.
The judge made it clear that her employment at the hospice was not affected by her actions, and no harm was done to the children she cared for, but the case underscored the importance of strict legal consequences for such offenses.
