MAN SNARED AFTER SENDING SEXUAL MESSAGES TO COPS HE THOUGHT WERE YOUNG GIRLS
A man with a sexual interest in children was caught by law enforcement after exchanging inappropriate messages with individuals he believed to be two young girls.Tony Crozier, aged 27, thought he was chatting online with a 13-year-old and a 12-year-old respectively.
In reality, he was speaking to undercover police officers posing as juveniles.
During the court hearing at Newcastle Crown Court, it was revealed that Crozier told the supposed 13-year-old, "I guess you like older guys," and then proceeded to make sexually explicit comments.
He sent indecent messages to one of the girls, calling her "sexy," and asked her to send sexual images and to perform a sex act on him.
The judge, Recorder Mark Giuliani, described Crozier's language as "disgusting and despicable." Later, Crozier began interacting with who he believed was a 12-year-old girl.
The court was informed that he referred to the 20-year age gap between them as "weird," but continued to engage in sexual conversations.
He sent a photo of his genitals and asked the girl to send him an image in return.
Crozier, from Chareway in Hexham, Northumberland, admitted to trying to initiate sexual communication with a minor on two occasions during early 2025, and the case was brought before the court on these charges.
Crozier is sentenced to 11 months in prison suspended for 18 months.
He also ordered him to complete 15 rehabilitation activity requirement days and attend 26 days of group activity.
