WITHAM MAN JAILED FOR VIOLENT ASSAULTS OF GIRLFRIEND
A WITHAM man who punched, kicked, and bit his girlfriend has been jailed for two years.
Tommy Bevis, 31, appeared before Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday after admitting one charge each of actual bodily harm, intentional strangulation, and engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour.
Official court documents show Bevis’s conduct involved him controlling what his girlfriend could wear, tracking her movements, and controlling what she posted on social media.
Bevis, of Church Street, Witham, committed the offences in Halstead during a three month period starting in October last year.
A judge jailed him for two years.
