TOMASZ WILLMINGTON FROM BOURNEMOUTH CAUGHT WITH CHILD AND ANIMAL INDECENT IMAGES AGAIN
In a disturbing development, Tomasz Willmington, a 21-year-old resident of Bournemouth, has been found in possession of indecent images involving children and animals, just two months after he was previously sentenced for similar offences. The police, who had been monitoring his online activity, discovered the troubling images on his laptop during a routine investigation.
Willmington’s criminal history includes a conviction in July 2022, when he was found guilty of five counts related to possessing pornographic images of children.
Following this conviction, he was sentenced in August 2022 to a three-year community order and was placed under a sexual harm prevention order that would last for ten years.
This order grants authorities the authority to monitor his electronic devices and online activity to prevent further offending.
According to prosecutor Althea Brook, law enforcement officers received a report in October 2022 indicating that Willmington was accessing indecent material from his residence on Northport Drive in Wareham.
This prompted a police investigation, during which officers reviewed his devices and uncovered the illicit images.
When questioned, Willmington admitted to the offences and subsequently pleaded guilty to the charges.
On February 2, at Bournemouth Crown Court, Willmington appeared before the judge to face sentencing for making indecent images of a child, possessing a prohibited image of a child, and possessing an extreme pornographic image involving animals, specifically dogs.
The court heard that his actions included viewing and storing such material, which is considered a serious criminal offence.
During the hearing, defense lawyer Kevin Hill highlighted that Willmington currently resides with his mother and has recently secured employment, which he claimed is aiding his rehabilitation.
Hill emphasized that his client takes the matter very seriously and expressed remorse for his repeated offences.
Judge Susan Evans KC acknowledged that Willmington reoffended shortly after completing his previous sentence, indicating that he had not yet begun his rehabilitation process at that time.
However, the judge also noted that since completing his initial program, Willmington has shown signs of progress.
She pointed out that maintaining employment and engaging with others could help reduce his social isolation, which is relevant to his offending behavior.
Judge Evans remarked that Willmington, being relatively young, is still maturing and that there is no evidence suggesting further offences.
Ultimately, she sentenced him to 14 weeks in prison, suspended for 15 months.
Additionally, he is required to complete 100 hours of unpaid work, and he will be subject to both a sexual harm prevention order and a sex offender notification order for the next seven years, aiming to prevent any future criminal activity.
