TOMASZ GLINSKI SHOCKS PADSTOW WITH NAKED PUBLIC INDECENCY AND CHILD PORNOGRAPHY SCANDAL

In April 2018, a disturbing series of incidents involving Tomasz Glinski, a Polish-born man residing at Treravel Farm in Padstow, came to light, revealing a pattern of alarming and criminal behavior that has left the local community deeply shaken.

Glinski, aged 37, appeared before Truro Crown Court to face charges related to public decency offenses and the possession of indecent images of children. He pleaded guilty to three counts of outraging public decency and was also found in possession of a significant number of illegal images, including some of the most serious category.

The court heard that last summer, Glinski targeted women and children in the vicinity of Padstow, engaging in acts that caused widespread distress and fear among witnesses. Prosecutor Jason Beal detailed several incidents that exemplify the severity of his actions.

One such incident occurred in June when a woman and her two children left their home on Church Lane, near St Petroc’s Church. They encountered Glinski at the entrance, where he was standing completely naked, apart from a rucksack on his back. According to the victim, he was looking at her, smiling, and masturbating openly. She described feeling terrified and uncertain about what he might do next or whether he possessed any objects that could harm her or her children.

The following month, on July 17, two gas fitters working on a property in School Lane observed Glinski in a disturbing act. From their vantage point, they saw him masturbating at a bus stop, seemingly behind an unaware female pedestrian. He then moved away from the bus stop, continuing his indecent behavior in a nearby grassy area while passing motorists honked their horns in protest. This incident took place around 3:30 pm, close to a school, raising concerns about the safety of children in the area.

Later that day, at approximately 5 pm, four 13-year-old children were at a local beach, having just come out of the sea and climbing over rocks to reach another part of the coast. They unexpectedly saw Glinski masturbating, which caused them to become visibly upset and distressed. Some of the girls immediately contacted their parents, alarmed by the encounter. Police were alerted and subsequently located Glinski sitting topless on a bench, wearing short shorts. Officers found a matching rucksack and the shorts at his home during a search.

Many of the victims reported feeling traumatized by these events, with some expressing reluctance to go out alone or return to the same beach. The community’s sense of safety was significantly impacted by Glinski’s actions.

Further investigation into Glinski’s devices revealed a disturbing collection of illegal material. A laptop seized from his home contained 311 indecent images of children, including three of the most serious Category A, 17 Category B, and 291 Category C images. Among these were movies and a particularly heinous image depicting a dog having sex with a 10-year-old child. Browser history searches also indicated prior interest in child abuse images, underscoring the severity of his offenses.

During sentencing, Recorder Martin Meeke, QC, acknowledged Glinski’s mental health difficulties and suggested that treatment would be best administered in Poland, where he expressed a desire to return immediately. The judge highlighted the aggravating factors of the case, including the location, timing, presence of children, and the deliberate nature of his acts intended to be seen by others.

As part of his sentence, Glinski was handed a 12-month prison term, suspended for two years. He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register, be subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and pay court costs of £500. Additionally, the court ordered the destruction of the laptop, shorts, and rucksack to prevent further misuse of the illegal material.
