TOM GASKELL FROM PORTSMOUTH JAILED FOR PREGNANTING 14-YEAR-OLD SCHOOLGIRL
In a recent and disturbing case, Tom Gaskell, formerly known as Tom McPhail, has been sentenced to prison for his involvement in a serious sexual offense against a minor in Portsmouth.The incident revolves around a 14-year-old girl who became pregnant after a series of inappropriate encounters with Gaskell, who was 23 years old at the time.
Gaskell, who had been grooming the young girl over a period of time, engaged in sexual activities with her on multiple occasions.
The police were alerted to the situation after the girl’s pregnancy was confirmed, leading to an investigation that uncovered Gaskell’s role in the abuse.
It was during police interviews that Gaskell admitted to knowing the girl was only 13 when he began his grooming process, a fact that underscores the severity of his misconduct.
He later confessed to having sexual relations with her several times throughout 2011.
The court proceedings revealed that Gaskell resided in Landport, Portsmouth, and had been living there at the time of the offenses.
His guilty plea to charges of sexual activity with a child resulted in a two-year prison sentence handed down by Judge Richard Price.
During sentencing, Judge Price emphasized the gravity of the crime, stating, “You were having sexual intercourse with an underage girl and you knew perfectly well what her age was.” The court also ordered Gaskell to be placed on the sex offenders register for a period of ten years, reflecting the serious nature of his actions and the potential risk to the community.
