LEICESTER MAN JAILED FOR LIFE AFTER STABBING EX-PARTNER TO DEATH
Tom Blakebrough, aged 28 and residing on Danvers Road in Leicester, has confessed to the murder of his former partner, Amanda Hunt, who was 44 years old.
Ms Hunt's body was found in a residence on Danvers Road early on September 30.
An autopsy determined that her cause of death was a stabbing injury.
Blakebrough admitted to killing her in court at Nottingham Crown Court and was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 14 years before he becomes eligible for parole.
Law enforcement officials described Blakebrough as a dangerous individual who is also deceitful and responsible for a violent act.
When officers arrived in response to reports of a domestic disturbance, they discovered Ms Hunt's body along with serious injuries to Blakebrough.
Her family fondly remembered her as a compassionate person, a cherished daughter, mother, and grandmother.
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Hewson, leading the investigation, highlighted the horrifying scene faced by police and expressed the hope that the sentence would help her family find some closure.
