TOBY GORDON, CHILD SEX OFFENDER WITH LINKS TO GRIMSBY AND LEEDS, STILL AT LARGE
In January 2016, authorities issued a public appeal to locate Toby Roy Gordon, a convicted child sex offender with connections to the town of Grimsby.Gordon, aged 38 at the time, had previously been convicted at Leeds Crown Court in November on two separate counts of indecent assault involving a minor.
Despite the conviction and the subsequent legal obligations, Gordon failed to attend his scheduled sentencing hearing on December 23, which led to his being officially listed as wanted by the police.
He was released on bail pending sentencing but did not return to court as required.
As a result, law enforcement agencies circulated his details across the region, emphasizing that he was wanted not only for skipping his court appearance but also for breaching the conditions of his sex offenders register.
The police described Gordon as a white male, approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a medium build.
He has short, dark hair that can sometimes appear unkempt, dark eyes and eyebrows, and olive-toned skin.
The image used in the appeal was taken in 2012 but remains a reliable likeness of him.
Gordon has known links to both Grimsby and Leeds, but authorities warn that he could be anywhere within the country, making his apprehension a priority for law enforcement.
Detective Inspector Marc Bowes, from the Leeds District Safeguarding Unit, stated, “We have been making extensive enquiries to locate Gordon since he failed to appear at court.
We are now appealing to the public to help us trace his whereabouts.” He urged the public not to approach Gordon directly if they see him but to contact police immediately.
Anyone with information that could assist in locating him is encouraged to reach out to Detective Constable Lee Thompson at the Leeds Child Safeguarding Unit, either by calling 0113 385 9576 or dialing 101.
