MAN JAILED AND GIVEN RESTRAINING ORDER AFTER BEING FOUND GUILTY OF INTENTIONAL SUFFOCATION
Last week, Winchester Crown Court sentenced Timothy Bossard, 42, of Ludwell, to 21 months in prison. The incident took place near the end of 2025, when Bossard suffocated his partner by holding a pillow over her face until she struggled to breathe.
The two were in a relationship at the time.
Following the report made by the victim in December, investigators launched an inquiry.
In addition to the jail term, Bossard received a two-year restraining order that prevents him from contacting the victim or visiting her home during this span.
In a victim impact statement read in court, the victim said: “I am now fully engaged in therapy and hope that, over time, I will be able to heal.
However, at present, I feel that I have lost my sense of who I am.
I have gone from being someone who supports others and helps them with their lives, to being someone who now needs help themselves.
This change has been deeply painful and disorientating.
His actions have caused lasting and life-changing damage that I continue to live with every day.”
