FORMER SHROPSHIRE HEAD TEACHER TIM MOULE JAILED FOR CHILD INDECENCY OFFENCES
A former head teacher who secretly recorded boys changing and downloaded indecent images of children has been sentenced to prison.Authorities discovered over 3,500 illicit images on devices owned by 47-year-old Tim Moule, who served as the safeguarding lead at his school.
Videos showing boys changing from uniforms into sports kits were also recovered and included in the evidence.
Moule, a resident of Severn Way, Cressage, in Shropshire, pleaded guilty to charges of voyeurism and making indecent images.
He was sentenced to 52 months in prison.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) explained that Moule was reported to the police after a parent found social media messages from him to her son.
Prosecutor Howard Searle stated, "Moule was sacked after indecent images, downloaded after 1,700 separate paedophile-related web searches, were discovered on a hard drive and laptop." During police interviews, Moule claimed he had not gained sexual gratification from the images, but he declined to comment further when asked about the victims of his voyeurism.
At Stafford Crown Court, Judge Michael Chambers QC described the breaches of trust as "difficult to envisage a more gross breach," noting that Moule had shown little remorse.
The judge emphasized that children had been in "pain and distress" during the commission of the crime, which he regarded as an aggravating factor.
Defence lawyer Jasvir Mann acknowledged that "little can be said" to justify Moule’s actions and recognized that Moule understood there was no excuse for accessing such material.
Moule, who was once praised for a successful career that included leading schools in Wolverhampton and Shropshire, admitted to six counts of recording a person performing a private act and two counts of making indecent photos of a child.
