TIKA RAI BANNED IN BASINGSTOKE FOR MAKING INDECENT IMAGES OF CHILDREN
In August 2019, a man from Basingstoke was sentenced after admitting to creating indecent images of children, leading to a community order being issued by magistrates.
Tika Dhan Rai, a 55-year-old resident of Silvester Close, Norn Hill, appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates Court on August 5 to face charges related to the production of such images.
During the court proceedings, it was revealed that between May 21, 2018, and July 4, 2018, Rai had taken multiple photographs of children that were classified as Category A and B images.
These categories represent some of the most severe forms of indecent images, indicating the explicit and extreme nature of the material involved.
In addition to the creation of these images, Rai also pleaded guilty to possessing two images classified as extreme, further underscoring the severity of his actions.
The court considered these factors when delivering its judgment.
As part of his sentence, Rai was handed a community order, which typically involves a period of supervision and various conditions aimed at rehabilitation.
He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £85 and £85 in court costs.
Furthermore, Rai was mandated to register on the sex offenders register, a legal requirement for individuals convicted of such offenses, ensuring ongoing monitoring and public safety measures.
