PORTHCAWL WOMAN ESCAPES BRUTAL ABUSE, CONDEMNS HER EX-PARTNER THOMAS PARRY TO FOUR YEARS IN JAIL
Jessica Davies, aged 23, from Porthcawl in Bridgend, has spoken publicly about her experiences with domestic violence inflicted by her former partner, Thomas Parry. She detailed multiple instances involving severe physical assaults, such as choking, punching, stomping, and other brutal acts that resulted in visible bruising.
Following a trial at Cardiff Crown Court, Parry was found guilty and sentenced to four years in prison.
The court information revealed that Parry had a history of 14 previous convictions for offenses including common assault.
Ms Davies recounted a particularly intense attack in August 2022, which occurred while their two-year-old child was nearby, during which she believed she would not survive.
She described a range of abusive behaviors, including being spat on, having talcum powder poured over her, being forced to sleep on the floor, and being confined inside their flat for two weeks to conceal her injuries.
She also described a traumatic incident where Parry pulled her hair, slammed her head onto a sofa, spat at her, and stamped on her, rendering her semi-conscious and in severe pain.
Despite the violence, she secretly created a fake email account and sent images of her injuries to an undisclosed email address when Parry was out.
She eventually found the strength to escape when she ran out of the flat.
Her injuries were shown to police officers, one of whom appeared visibly affected by her account.
Parry’s legal representative claimed he was deeply remorseful.
Ms Davies hopes her account will raise awareness among women about recognizing early signs of abuse and taking steps to leave before harm escalates.
The combination of Parry's previous convictions and the severity of recent attacks highlights the danger she faced.
She expressed gratitude for surviving and urged others to stay alert to controlling and violent partners.
