    THOMAS EDWARDS FROM DUKINFIELD SENTENCED FOR RAPE OF 12-YEAR-OLD GIRL IN MANCHESTER

    In a case that has shocked the community of Dukinfield and the wider Tameside area, Thomas Edwards, aged 20, has been sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of heinous crimes involving a young girl. Edwards, residing on Freeman Road in Dukinfield, was convicted of raping a 12-year-old girl on two separate occasions, with the incidents occurring in September 2002 and June 2003.

    During the proceedings at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court, Edwards pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, acknowledging his actions against the young victim. The court was informed that Edwards not only assaulted the girl but also threatened her life, warning her that he would kill her if she disclosed the assaults to her mother. Such threats added a terrifying dimension to the crimes, further traumatizing the young girl.
