THOMAS CADMAN, FORMER DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL OF THE CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF ARBITRATORS, ADMITS TO SEXUAL ASSAULTS IN WILTSHIRE
The ex-Deputy Director General of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators has confessed to committing three sexual assaults at a pub in Wiltshire.Appearing at Swindon Magistrates Court on 9 February, Thomas Cadman, aged 42, pleaded guilty to attacking two women in a total of three incidents at The Red Lion in Castle Eaton.
Prosecutor Pauline Lambert explained that Cadman, who resides less than a mile from the pub on Blackford Lane, visited the premises on 29 August last year.
During the first assault, he forcibly grabbed a woman by her buttocks with both hands and squeezed as he passed her in a doorway.
Shortly afterward, he repeated the gesture, this time with less force.
He then approached a second woman near the toilets and inquired whether her husband had entered the pub.
Following that, he grabbed her buttocks as well, before she pushed him away.
Despite being told to stop, Cadman then took hold of her face, pulling her cheeks and drawing her face towards him.
The second woman later reported the incident to the pub’s landlord, who confronted Cadman about his behaviour.
The landlord instructed him to apologise and leave the establishment.
After being asked to leave, Cadman approached the woman again, who was accompanied by her husband.
He offered to buy them both a drink to compensate for his actions, but they declined the offer.
As Cadman left, he stroked the woman’s buttocks once more, an act witnessed by another pub patron.
No mitigation was presented for his actions, and the case was adjourned to await a pre-sentence report.
Cadman, who is a qualified solicitor, is scheduled to return to the same court for sentencing in March.
