Tesform Fisseha has been sentenced to nine years and six months in prison for committing serious sexual assaults against two girls, both under 16 years old. The incidents took place in Rugby town centre during the early hours of June 27, 2021. Police described his actions as 'beyond disgusting' and commended the bravery of the two victims and three witnesses who came forward to support the case. Witness statements collected during the investigation provided sufficient evidence for the prosecution to charge Fisseha with three counts of raping a female under 16. During the sentencing, Detective Constable Thomas Green highlighted the seriousness of the offences, stating: “Not only was Fisseha’s offending beyond disgusting, he also lied in his police interview and tried to imply his victims were fabricating their claims. We couldn’t be more proud of the two girls in this case.” He also mentioned that Fisseha underestimated the courage of his young victims, who ultimately helped bring him to justice. This case underscores the bravery of all five individuals involved — both victims and witnesses — who stood firm against the offender. Fisseha will now serve over nine years in prison, a period giving him time to reflect on his unacceptable actions against children.
