December 2006 Jailed dad who raped sleeping party girl ‘a risk to females’ A MAN who raped a 14-year-old after she fell asleep was described by a judge as a “risk to women”. Terry Williamson , 32, admitted he had drunk 10 pints of lager before going to a house party, but claimed at Leeds Crown Court he was not affected by alcohol. Williamson denied assaulting the 14-year-old girl, but later alleged she consented to sex after DNA tests proved he was responsible. He was convicted of rape by jury and jailed for three-and-a-half years by Judge Peter Hunt, who told him he would not be automatically released after that time. The parole board would have to consider whether it was safe for him to be released after he served that sentence, said the judge. The court heard Williamson, of Lupset Crescent, Wakefield, turned up at a party at a house nearby last year to see in the New Year. But as party goers slept after the event Williamson assaulted the girl. Judge Hunt said he had taken advantage of an intoxicated and vulnerable young person who was sound asleep and who, in the eyes of the law, was still only a child. “The effect on her is not hard to imagine. She will have suffered psychological harm.” Judge Hunt said Williamson had no previous convictions for sex offences but had offences of violence on his record and had been violent to a woman, who was his partner. “A common factor in those offences has been your excessive drinking and, in my judgment, you do present a significant risk,” said the judge.
