Horden Peterlee Sherburn Sexual Abuser

February 2017 Men jailed for sexual exploitation of underage boy TWO men who took advantage of a vulnerable teenage boy, having repeated sexual relations with him, knowing he was underage have been jailed for eight and seven years Kevin Robinson, 32, and 35-year-old Terry Rayner were said to have “exploited” the boy’s vulnerability at a time he was experimenting sexually. Durham Crown Court heard that both invited the boy, who was aged 14 and 15 at the time, to their homes for sexual encounters. Robinson, of Fourth Street, Horden, County Durham, admitted three counts of sexual activity with a child, plus one each of making indecent images of children, distributing indecent images and possession of extreme pornography. Rayner, of Jubilee Crescent, Sherburn Hill, near Durham, but formerly of Peterlee admitted four counts of sexual activity with a child and one of arranging or facilitating a child sex offence. Both men will be subject to restrictions over future internet use and contact with underage boys, as part of an unlimited six-point Sexual Harm Prevention Order. They will both be subject to registration as sex offenders for life. January 2017 Men who admitted having sex with 14-year-old boy warned prison is ‘inevitable’ TWO men who admitted having sex with a teenage boy, knowing he was under age, were told they could be facing potentially lengthy prison sentences. The warning was given by a judge to Terry Rayner, 35, and 32-year-old Kevin Robinson, after they gave guilty pleas to a total 11-count indictment put to them at Durham Crown Court. The pair arrived at court on bail and when the case was initially called on for a plea hearing, Jane Waugh, representing, Robinson told the court: “It’s his intention to plead guilty to all counts he is facing. But Robin Denny, for Rayner, said this was not the case with his client as barely any of the prosecution evidence, other than a case summary, had been presented to his lawyers. “I have only a minuscule amount of information and my client’s computer is still with the police at the moment.” Judge Christopher Prince asked for the prosecution to make all the evidence available to Rayner’s legal team so pleas could be taken later in the day. When the case was called back on, shortly before the lunch interval, both Miss Waugh and Mr Denny said their clients would be pleading guilty to the offences. Despite the respective counsel’s complaints, as their clients had, hitherto, been on bail, Judge Prince remanded both in custody. “They are both indicating they will be pleading guilty to serious charges and so both will be remanded in custody.” The case was then called back on at the end of the court proceedings for the day when the charges were finally put to the defendants. Robinson, of Fourth Street, Horden, County Durham, admitted three counts of sexual activity with a child, all between January and June 2014, when the complainant was aged 14. He also admitted making an indecent photograph of a child, and distributing indecent photographs of a child, said to relate to between 20 and 25 images at category C in severity, found on the complainant’s computer. Rayner, of Jubilee Crescent, Sherburn Hill, near Durham, admitted four counts of sexual activity with a child, between April 2013 and September 2014, when the boy was aged between 14 and 15. He also admitted arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence. Judge Prince adjourned sentence in both cases to allow for the preparation of background Probation Service reports. Remanding them into custody until the sentencing hearing, on Friday February 17, he told them: “Custody is inevitable, it will only be a matter of length.” Both will now be subject to registration as sex offenders, the full period of which will be determined in each case at the sentencing hearing.
