PORTSMOUTH PAEDOPHILE TERRY NEALE SENTENCED FOR CHILD SEX OFFENCES IN AUSTRALIA AND LOCAL VIDEOS
A man from Portsmouth with a disturbing history of child exploitation has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of possessing and creating indecent images of children, as well as voyeurism.Terry Neale, aged 55 and residing in North End, Portsmouth, was apprehended by officers from the National Crime Agency (NCA) in January 2021.
The arrest followed a crucial investigation involving the Australian Federal Police (AFP), who had recovered videos that Neale had shared with an Australian paedophile, Stephen Porter.
Porter, who was arrested in June 2020 and subsequently sentenced to 20 years in prison for child sexual exploitation offences, had received videos from Neale, revealing a disturbing connection between the two.
The AFP shared these videos with the NCA, which led to Neale’s identification and subsequent arrest in Portsmouth.
The investigation uncovered that Neale and Porter had known each other for over two decades, their relationship spanning many years and crossing international borders.
Among the evidence recovered were two videos from Porter, taken by Neale in 2013.
These videos depicted a young boy getting dressed after bathing at Neale’s residence.
In the footage, Neale can be seen speaking with the child and handing him towels, indicating a level of familiarity and inappropriate conduct.
Further disturbing material included videos showing children changing at swimming pools within the Portsmouth area.
One such video captured Neale placing a bag on a bench and adjusting a hidden camera, then walking around the changing room and engaging with naked boys, raising serious concerns about his motives and actions.
Additional footage, recorded during children’s swimming lessons in August 2013 using a concealed camera, showed Neale in wet clothing and goggles, suggesting he had been in the water with the pupils.
At the time, Neale was employed by a local swimming school and also served as an amateur youth football coach for various teams in the Portsmouth region.
All children featured in the videos have been identified, interviewed, and provided with safeguarding support by NCA investigators.
Neale pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including voyeurism and possession and creation of indecent images of children, at Winchester Crown Court on 27 September of the previous year.
Additional charges, such as arranging or facilitating the sexual exploitation of a child under 13 and possessing extreme pornographic images, will be formally recorded and held on file.
On 6 February, Neale was sentenced to three years and six months in prison.
The court also imposed an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order and mandated that he be placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life, reflecting the severity of his crimes and the ongoing risk he poses to the community.
