TERRENCE WILSON TO BE SENTENCED IN CHELMSFORD FOR SEXUAL OFFENSES INVOLVING ST OSYTH GIRL
In May 2011, convicted sex offender Terrence Wilson is scheduled to be sentenced later this month for the sexual assault of a nine-year-old girl.
Currently, Wilson is held under a hospital order and is undergoing assessments by medical experts.
The judge extended this order during a brief hearing at Chelmsford Crown Court today, setting the sentencing date for May 31.
It is anticipated that reports from the assessments will be available by then.
Wilson, aged 53, has been awaiting sentencing since last August, following his conviction for sexual assault and for breaching a sexual offences prevention order.
The court heard that the assault occurred near Wilson’s home on St Clair's Road, St Osyth, on January 30 of the previous year.
Wilson admitted to four additional charges of possessing indecent images of children.
At the time of the offenses, Wilson was subject to a sexual prevention order that prohibited him from communicating with or associating with young girls.
He denied charges of kidnapping the girl and kidnapping her with the intent to commit a sexual offense.
The jury was unable to reach verdicts on these kidnapping charges, and the prosecution chose not to pursue a retrial.
