TERENCE DENGLER EXMOUTH CHILD SEX OFFENDER ADMITTED TO 30 YEARS OF ABUSE

In December 2017, a disturbing case emerged involving a man whose disappearance prompted a significant police search in the town of Exmouth, located in Devon. The individual, identified as 67-year-old Terence Dengler, was reported missing for three days in October, raising concerns among local authorities and the community alike.

During the search, police issued an appeal for information, describing Dengler as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall, with short silver-white hair and a matching short beard. He was believed to be wearing a dark jacket, jeans, and possibly sunglasses, while carrying a rucksack. Authorities suspected he might have traveled to or been in the Exeter area, potentially using train services to move around.

Fortunately, Dengler was located the following day in Exmouth, ending the search and bringing relief to residents and law enforcement officials. However, the case took a darker turn as it was revealed that Dengler had a long history of heinous crimes spanning over three decades.

He subsequently appeared at Truro Crown Court, where he admitted to multiple serious charges related to child sexual offenses. These included indecent assault on a girl under the age of 11, a second count of indecent assault on a girl under 11, gross indecency with a child, indecent assault, and two additional counts of indecent assault on a girl under nine years old.

The court proceedings were temporarily adjourned, with sentencing scheduled for a later date. The revelations about Dengler’s extensive criminal history have shocked the community and underscore the importance of vigilant law enforcement in protecting vulnerable children from predatory individuals.
