SYRWAN HAKIM FROM HANDSWORTH SENTENCED TO OVER 25 YEARS FOR CHILD SEX CRIMES IN BIRMINGHAM
In a case that has shocked the local community, Syrwan Hakim, a man residing on Holly Road in Handsworth, has been sentenced to more than 25 years in prison following his conviction for a series of heinous sexual offenses involving young boys.The crimes, which spanned over a decade and a half, involved the repeated rape and sexual assault of two boys, with the victims as young as seven and ten years old at the time of the abuse.
These disturbing revelations only came to light after one of the victims, demonstrating remarkable courage and resilience, decided to come forward earlier this year to report the historic abuse to the authorities.
His decision prompted a thorough investigation by West Midlands Police, specifically their Public Protection Unit, which specializes in handling such sensitive cases.

The court found him guilty of 23 separate offenses, including rape, sexual assault, attempted rape, and assault.
On Friday, October 4, at Birmingham Crown Court, the 44-year-old defendant was handed a severe sentence of 26 years in prison.
In addition to his incarceration, Hakim was ordered to be placed on the sex offender register for life.
The court also imposed indefinite restraining orders and sexual harm prevention orders, which are designed to prevent him from contacting any boys under the age of 18 in the future.
These measures aim to protect the community and prevent any further harm from the convicted individual.
